From tall oaks little acorns grow . . .

We will value each other as unique and special individuals.
We will not laugh or make fun of another person’s mistakes.

We will use good manners, saying please, thanks you, excuse me and letting others go first.
We will cheer each other to success.
We will help one another whenever possible.
We will recognize every effort and applaud it.
We will encourage each other to do our best.

Dear Parents,
In order to provide our students with the excellent educational climate, these are the classroom rules and expected behaviors:

1. Follow directions the first time they are given.
2. Follow the procedures in our class.
3. Work before play.
4. Respect others by keeping your hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
5. Be good listeners.

Students who behave appropriately will be positively rewarded with praise, free time, stickers, extra privileges, and special treats.

Consequences for inappropriate behavior:
1st Offense-Warning- Student will be warned and re-directed.

2nd offense - Student will proceed to his/her desk to think for three minutes.

3rd offense- Student will proceed to “Time-Out Chair” and wait for teacher to hold private conference.  Teacher will mark the “scowling” face in the red folder with comments.

4th offense – Teacher will mark the “sad” face in the red folder with comments.  Student will lose some free time and write a note explaining the offense.

5th offense- Student will call parent.

Last Resort- Referral to office with a call to parent.

*Should a child continue to display inappropriate behavior, a conference will be held with the principal, the teacher and the parent.

SEVERE CLAUSE: Any student who causes a severe disruption or bodily harm to another student will go to step 4 or, depending on offense, will be referred to the office.
